Penwood England

Our flight arrived at 12.05pm and we collected our pre arranged car hire from Europcar. Of course the lovely salesman upgraded us to a Volkswagen Passat diesel with sat nav. Thank goodness for satellite navigation - those pommie roads are confusing. We drove an hour away from Heathrow Airport to a small place called Penwood where we stayed above a garage in a converted loft. Although no kitchen it had a lovely bathroom and the most comfortable beds. Although that might have been because we were so tired from the flight.

The day was not without hiccups. When we got to Heathrow we realised my very expensive Canon SLR camera was no longer with us😕. It had left our company somewhere between Macdonalds at Sydney airport and Abu Dhabi airport. We may have left it on the plane or at Sydney airport.

Then when we got to Penwood we realised we had left three bags of shopping at the hire car office. A quick call confirmed they had it and Peter and Nick drove back to retrieve them.

Not a great start to the holiday, but we are well and everything also it just possessions. Although I would have missed that duty free Ballantyne scotch 😋
